On Golden Pond is a classic American comedic drama that's every bit as touching, warm, and witty today as when it was written. Retired couple Ethel and Norman Thayer are spending their 48th summer at their vacation home on Golden Pond, in the woods of Maine. Their delightful summer routine--fishing, picking strawberries, enjoying old mementoes, listening to the loons call--is given a bitterly comedic edge by Norman's unreliable memory and cantankerously morbid statements. When their daughter Chelsea visits for Norman's 80th birthday, bringing her boyfriend Bill and Bill's teenage son, Billy Jr., the whole family must come to grips with Norman and Chelsea's mutual bitterness. A play that effortlessly illustrates the hilarious, heartbreaking, human moments of which life is made. Starring Glory Kissel.
Based on the hit 2003 film, School of Rock follows Dewey Finn, a failed wannabe rock star who is down on his luck. After Dewey is kicked out of his band, and threatened with eviction, his fortunes take a turn for the better when he intercepts a phone call meant for his roommate, Ned. He quickly decides to make a bit of cash and pose as Ned to take a substitute teaching post at Horace Green, a prestigious prep school. He is horrified to discover that his straight-laced and straight-A students haven't a clue about rock and roll, and he makes it his mission to educate them awayfrom the prying eyes of the school's principal, Rosalie Mullins. Along the way, Dewey finds romance, self-worth, a proper job, and, most importantly, he teaches the children and their parents the beauty of rock!
It's 1959, and Rydell High School's senior class is in rare form. The 1950s high school dream is about to explode in this rollicking musical that is both an homage to the idealism of the fifties and a satire of high schoolers' age-old desire to be rebellious, provocative and rebellious. At the heart of the story is the romance between hot-rodding gangster Danny Zuko and the sweet new girl in town, Sandy Dumbrowski. Can Danny maintain his cool dude status and still make demure Sandy his girl? The whole gang sings and dances around Danny and Sandy's romance, through such hit songs as "Greased Lightnin"', "We Go Together", and "Mooning", the soundtrack of a generation. Grease is the word!
